MATTE ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
I have created an animated painting using the technique of “phenakistoscopes.” This is one of the first forms of animation and works great on a turntable as it must have a circular layout.
The artwork is meant to capture the style and mood of J Dilla’s masterpiece “Donuts”.
This phenakistoscope should be played at 45 RPM with the best light possible. You must also use your camera phone to view the animation.
